Suggest changes in how people travel around, and many people worry about the impacts on scaring visitors away and reducing the economic value of tourism. Is this true? What Makes You Move considers in detail the evidence for how the transport impacts of people’s visits can be reduced while still maintaining the amount visitors spend. This leads on to how this would translate to marketing messages. The project is funded by Natural England, is a partnership between Natural England, Friends of the Lake District and Cumbria Tourism.
