When you’re planning your project and completing an Environmental Improvement Grant Application please consider the sustainability advice in the box below.

•    Keep travel to a minimum

•    Where travel is essential go by foot, bicycle or public transport

•    Where these are not options seek to lift share

•    Aim for a carbon neutral footprint for the project, ie. reduce 
     greenhouse gas emissions

•    Keep energy usage to a minimum: use energy-efficient systems
     such as heating, lighting etc efficiently

•    Don’t waste water

•    Recycle or re-use all suitable materials

•    Buy / use locally sourced materials and services

•    Buy / use Fairtrade resources

•    Consider the environmental impact of all project activities and
      personal actions before starting them.
