This is strategic project involving a partnership between the Lake District National Park Authority and Cumbria County Council and funded by the North West Development Agency.

Phase 1 has undertaken a broad assessment of the transport problems in the park, identified relevant good practice for elsewhere in the UK and beyond, and condensed these down to areas that could be looked at to develop a truly sustainable transport system for the Park. Subsequent phases will develop throughout 2009.
