FLD Research
FLD believe that quality research can help to increase understanding of and assist decision-making about landscape issues.
Where we cannot carry out the research ourselves we employ the expertise of others to increase our knowledge and inform our policies. Our library of research resources is also available for others to access.
Commissioned Research
Where expertise in a particular area is required FLD has commissioned specialists to carry out research on our behalf. Topic areas include Sustainable Tourism in the Lake District and Undergrounding of Overhead Lines.

Student Research
Since 1985, FLD has awarded grants to individuals carrying our research projects on environmental issues in the Lake District and Cumbria. Grants of up to £300 are available to support projects relevant to the work of FLD.
Our library archive has a copy of each report sponsored by FLD, as well as reports from other sources which we have not sponsored. All reports are available for use by the general public.
