2003 - A Clear View: Reducing the Impact of Overhead Wires
The study was carried out by the UK Centre for Economic and Environmental Development and assesses the scope for placing electricity wires underground to reduce their intrusiveness in the landscape.

2001 - Green Horizons - An assessment of the sustainability of the Tourism Industry in the Lake District
The study sought to establish to what extent the initiatives and practices promoted in policy documents for green tourism in the early 1990s have been achieved. The study concentrated on the serviced accommodation sector and was based on a survey of over 800 tourism enterprises. The report contains nearly 40 recommendations for how the industry can take the opportunities provided by sustainable tourism to improve the area's tourism potential and help protect its precious landscape.
