The information gap

We know Cumbria has over half of England’s registered Village Greens in our county. But that’s about it!

  • We don’t know how many are disappearing or how fast
  • We don’t know about all the other unprotected open green spaces you value.
  • We don’t know what spaces you’d like to create for your community

Please help!

Tell us about your community’s open green space!
Tell us about your green space problems or visions and ideas!
Tell us how we can help you!

What will we do with your information?

  • Firstly we’ll create a publicly accessible digital map of all Cumbria’s open green spaces.
  • Secondly we’ll select 10 communities to work with during the main project phase, which we hope will be supported by a major HLF grant.

Want to enhance your village green?

If your community is interested in working on your open green space as one of the 8 pilot projects within the next phase of Open Spaces, Green Places please contact us with a brief 'expression of interest'. Please download a form to find out what criteria we'll be applying to the selection process and what you need to tell us.

Getting involved

To get involved in the project please download the Open Green Spaces Questionnaire. Send your completed form back to Jo Chaffer

Jo is the Project Officer for Open Spaces, Green Places and will be happy to discuss the project with you.
