Becoming a Friend
The Friends of the Lake District is a charity that works to protect and enhance the landscapeof the Lake District and Cumbria and to promote its understanding and quiet enjoyment. We currently have 7000 members and rely upon their support to help care for this outstandingly beautiful area of international importance.

Join people like you who love the Lake District and Cumbria
On joining the Friends of the Lake District you will receive:
- A new members' welcome pack

- Two editions of Conserving Lakeland, our members' magazine
- An annual digest of our work and roundup of landscape issues affecting the Lake District and Cumbria in our Annual Report
- An opportunity to take part in our members events joining other FLD members at our members meets, our AGM, slide shows, walks and lectures held throughout the year.
- Subscription to our bi-monthy e-newsletter keeping you updated on landscape issues across Cumbria and the Lake District.
New members will also receive a free copy of Flora of the Fells book, telling the story of Cumbria's upland landscapes.

Gift membership. Enrol family or a friends as a gift member and get two years membership at a discount rate. The membership includes a welcome pack along with a personal message from you, we will also include a copy of Tarns of the Fells as an extra gift.
Making a donation
You can also make a donation to help the work of the Friends of the Lake District. We have been working for nearly 70 years to protect this most beautiful landscape.
