Children feel the difference at Little Asby Common

ortonChildren from a local primary enjoyed a morning exploring Friends of the Lake District's land at Little Asby Common as part of the Flora of the Fells Project. The children took part in activities and explored the Common, including discovering fossils, searching for flowers in the limestone pavement and making sketches of the landscape.

In the afternoon the children returned to school where they took part in more activities related to the Common. The day is part of an ongoing programme of work with the school to build up a long-term relationship between the local children and their local landscape.
