Ask your political candidates about the issues of concern to us!
As a registered charity, Friends of the Lake District is limited to an even-handed approach to all political issues during the General Election campaign. We are, however, allowed to invite candidates to respond to our views on issues without comparing or in any way making any judgement on their responses.
Friends of the Lake District has written to all the main candidates in Cumbria, asking for their position on the issues which we believe are important in Cumbria and the Lake District, as well as the national priorities of CPRE.
If you live in Cumbria please do ask your candidates about their views on these local issues as well as CPRE's national priorities; if you are outside Cumbria then you may prefer to discuss CPRE's national priorities (twenty-first century planning, protecting the human habitat and action on fly-tipping and litter).
You can see the general letter we've sent here
