Flooding in Cumbria
Thursday, 24 December 2009 09:08

We have all been shocked by the scenes of widespread flooding across Cumbria recently after torrential downpours across the county.

However Cumbria is recovering - and it's still open for business. Cumbria relies on tourism and one of the best things you can do to help is to visit. Contact Cumbria Tourism's free visitor helpline for up-to-the-minute advice on hundreds of hotels, B&Bs, and guest houses, on 01539 825070 or see www.golakes.co.uk .

For information on transport in and around Cumbria see www.bbc.co.uk/cumbria or www.cumbria.gov.uk.

Cumbria Community Foundation has launched an appeal to help individuals and families and for voluntary groups who have suffered in the flooding on 19 November. You can donate to this here.

If you'd like to support us and our work in looking after the landscape you can help us through donating, joining yourself or a friend as a member, or buying a gift from our shop.
