Helm Gingerbread Recipe provided by Natland and Oxenholme Women's Institute. This gingerbread can be enjoyed cold as a cake or warm served with whipped cream. Or for a decadent dessert, double the topping recipe and serve hot as a sticky toffee pudding. See the making of Helm Gingerbread.
Grizedale Forest Chocolate Avalanche Cake Donated by the Brewery Arts Centre's Café in the Forest at Grizedale, the Grizedale Forest Chocolate Avalanche Cake is a dark chocolate, coffee and brandy flavoured cake with an ‘avalanche' of white marshmallow icing. Jean Smith and her husband Stephen made this cake and she said 'The recipe is easy to follow, and I'd grade the level of difficulty as 'moderate'.
