Twenty one Cumbrian wallers battled to rebuild walls at Friends of the Lake District's dry stone walling competition on Saturday (3 July).

Friends of the Lake District has voiced its serious concern to United Utilities over their application for a drought permit to abstract more water from Windermere in order to safeguard water supplies in the north west.  

Some of the best dry stone wallers in the region will re-build a dilapidated limestone dry stone wall at Friends of the Lake District's annual Walling Competition at Little Asby Common in the Orton Fells on Saturday July 3.
