Friends of the Lake District has objected to an application for a café and events building on White Moss Common between Rydal and Grasmere.  This lovely wooded area is classed as Common Land which by law is not supposed to be built on.

National Grid North West Coast Connections – bay tunnel hope for new power cables

National Grid announced last week its preferred options for routing new power cables from west Cumbria into the grid, which includes a southern route under Morecambe Bay, which would avoid going through south Cumbria and much of the Lake District National Park.
